Shared keys & connected accounts

Some things you set up once and every Zenith app uses: your AI keys and your connected Google accounts. Other things stay with each app: which AI service it asks, and its Gold. This page shows which is which.

#AI keys are shared

Ask the sky — the assistant in Zenith apps — runs on your own key from an AI service you already use. A key you save in any Zenith app works in the others too. You add it once, not once per app. The calendar says so when you save one: "‹service› key saved — the whole suite shares it".

• Stored encrypted, on your phone. Keys are kept only in encrypted form, locked with a key in the phone's own keystore (hardware-backed where the phone has it). The app that hosts the broker — the suite's private shared shelf — holds them for all Zenith apps.
• Sent only to their own service. A key leaves your phone only with a request to the service it belongs to, never anywhere else.
• Saving a key isn't saying yes. Nothing is sent until you agree, the first time an app would send your words to that service. See AI safety — Zenith Guard & consent.
• Sharing a key is free. It needs no Gold.

#Which service each app asks

A shared key doesn't mean every app asks the same service. Each app has its own settings for this:

• Zenith Launcher: Settings › ask the sky › "provider & key". See Set up Ask the Sky.
• Zenith Calendar: Settings › ask the sky › "THE SERVICE — calendar's own". The calendar's choice is kept for the calendar only. It asks only that service; without a key for it, it has "no brain yet" and never turns to another company instead. See Ask the sky — the calendar's assistant.

#Connected accounts are shared

When you connect a Google account in one Zenith app, every Zenith app on the phone can use it. You link it once for all of them.

• Zenith Launcher: Settings › suite connections — "link Google & more · once for every Zenith app".
• Zenith Calendar: Settings › connections — "your google account — calendars · drive". Google's own sign-in screen names "Zenith Suite". It asks only for the Drive files Zenith makes and your email. Permission to make a Google calendar is asked separately, and only when you tap the button that makes one. See Your Google account & Drive.

#Gold is not shared

A key follows you across the suite, but a Gold unlock does not. Each app sells its own Gold, and buying it in one app never unlocks another. See Zenith Gold across the suite.
