Ask the Sky across the suite

Explanation

Ask the sky is the AI assistant built into Zenith apps. You type or say a request, and it answers. When you allow it, it also acts, using the same controls you would use by hand. Zenith Launcher and Zenith Calendar each have their own ask the sky. This page covers what they share.

Your own AI, your own key

Ask the sky doesn't run on a Zenith server. It's bring your own key: you paste in a key from an AI service you already use, and the assistant talks to that service directly. The key is stored encrypted on your phone and shared by every Zenith app, so you add it once. A service that runs on the phone itself needs no key and sends nothing. Who answers — the being

The "who" whose voice frames each reply is called a being, or a tulpa. Beings are installed and chosen only in Zenith AI, and the choice holds for the whole suite. Each app loads whichever being the suite names.

If no being is named, the one who answers is Cielo. Cielo comes with every Zenith app, with or without Zenith AI, and can't be removed. The apps themselves have no list of beings to pick from.

A being's voice is shared too. Replies are read aloud in that voice through the phone's own text-to-speech.

How it answers — lenses

A lens changes how a reply comes back, never who is speaking. Lenses are suite-wide, and you can stack as many as you like. They come from Zenith AI, so the lens control shows only when Zenith AI is installed. The lenses are spark, investigate, blunt, riddle and brief.

Off means off

  • Each app has its own AI switch. In Zenith Launcher it's "ai & assistant", and in Zenith Calendar it's "zenith ai in this app". Both are in that app's Settings › ask the sky. Turning one off hides the assistant in that app.
  • Zenith AI holds a suite-wide AI switch. With it off, Zenith Calendar sends nothing to any AI.

Two gates before anything goes out

  • Your yes. The first time an app would send your words to a service, it asks you first. If you say no, nothing is sent.
  • Zenith Guard. Every request and every reply is checked on your phone against the suite's safety policy.

Apps reaching each other

In Zenith Calendar, ask the sky can use tools that other installed Zenith apps offer, such as Zenith Tasks. Other Zenith apps' assistants can also place, read and change the calendar's commitments while the calendar's AI switch is on. Anything that deletes something stays behind each app's "allow destructive actions" switch.
